Therapy as unique as you are.

My journey in clinical psychology has been driven by a deep commitment to understanding and empowering individuals who navigate the world differently. With a specialized focus on neurodivergence (e.g., Autism, ADHD, PTSD, C-PTSD), I have dedicated my career to supporting individuals who experience life through unique cognitive, emotional, and somatic lenses. This passion for neurodiversity, paired with my clinical experience has shaped my approach to mental health care - one that is rooted in empathy, evidence-based practices, and an unwavering belief in the potential of each person.

One of the central principles of my practice is the recognition of each individual’s strengths. In working with adults who identify as neurodivergent, whether they are on the autism spectrum, have ADHD, or experience other forms of neurodiversity, I prioritize identifying each person’s distinct abilities and perspectives while helping them navigate the sometimes disabling aspects of neurodiversity. This strength-based approach not only fosters self-esteem but also encourages clients to leverage their unique ways of thinking in their personal and professional lives.

Experience and Treatment Approach

I have had the privilege of teaching in higher education learning centers and working in diverse clinical settings, including large behavior health agencies, community mental health centers, and private practice. These experiences have provided me with a strong foundation in therapeutic techniques and assessments, allowing me to serve clients with varied needs. My personal experience and my work with neurodivergent adults has taught me the importance of flexibility, patience, and collaboration. I strive to create an environment where my clients feel safe and understood, where their unique experiences are acknowledged and validated.

My training in clinical psychology has equipped me with the skills necessary to conduct comprehensive assessments, develop tailored intervention plans, and employ a variety of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), mindfulness-based approaches, and somatic approaches. My commitment to continued learning ensures I am current with advancements in neurodiversity research, allowing me to provide the most effective and empathetic care to my clients.

A little about me

I have a PhD in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Somatic Psychology and am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of California and Louisiana.

Some of my favorite things (in no particular order): ice cream (Bluebell’s Chocolate Chip or Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough), Halloween, fried chicken, gumbo, cooking (especially Southern), pumpkin-spiced coffee, travel (Barcelona, Sitges, New York City, Hawaii, Miami), trees, the beach, the ocean, reading (especially nonfiction), and Disneyland.

Some of my favorite TV shows / movies: Six Feet Under (HBO), True Blood (HBO), Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Mean Girls, Hocus Pocus, Law and Order SVU, and Teen Witch.

Favorite Book Recommendations: Waking the Tiger, Unmasking Autism, The Body Keeps Score, Uniquely Human, and The Four Agreements.
